The photos were taken from Ancestry.com. There was no cemetery name listed with the headstone, only a county and I didn’t find it on Find A Grave. According to the Kentucky Death Index he died in Laurel County which is next to Clay County so I can reason the location of burial. (Many people from Washington County, Arkansas are buried in neighboring Madison County, Arkansas)

He married Catherine Jane Stewart on October 17, 1853 and they as far as I can discern they had nine children: William Henry, Mary Jane, Lucinda, Louisa, Sarah A., James Robert, Barbara Wilma, Martha Elizabeth and John.

Ruben and Catherine are listed on the 1880 Federal Census living with Ruben’s parents. Catherine died in 1883. The 1900 and 1910 Federal Census has Ruben as head of household with his daughter, Sarah Cheek and her children in residence. His youngest son, John and his wife and children are also listed in the household in 1900. All three Censuses have him living in Laurel County, Kentucky.

I need to find out more about Sarah BRUNER Cheek. I’d like to know what happened to her husband.

UPDATE: Ruben has been added to the Find A Grave index. He is buried in the Reuben Bruner Cemetery, London, Laurel, Kentucky.
